Terms of Use

These terms are the contract between you and Leonardo Mondaine, an individual based at R. Presidente João Goulart, 675, Cascavel, Paraná, Brazil, responsible for the Nimo Chat app. By using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use it.

Read this together with the Privacy Policy.

Language. Nimo Chat publishes these terms in eleven languages. The English version is the reference version for users outside Brazil. If you are in Brazil, the Portuguese text applies — that is your right under the Consumer Protection Code, and we don't waive it.

1. Minimum age

Nimo Chat is intended for people aged 18 and over. By creating an account you declare that you are 18 or older. We don't allow accounts for minors, and any that are identified are deleted without prior notice.

If you suspect you are talking to a minor, report it immediately through the conversation menu or write to abuso@chatnimo.com. Reports of this kind get top priority.

2. How the account works

Your account is anonymous: we don't ask for an email address, phone number or password. That has a consequence you need to understand:

If you uninstall the app without saving your recovery code, you may lose the account forever. We store only a fingerprint of the code, so not even we can recover it. Generate yours in Profile → Account → Recovery code.

You are responsible for keeping that code safe. Anyone who has the code can access your account.

3. Community rules

Nimo Chat exists for talking to strangers. That only works if everyone behaves. The following is prohibited:

Zero tolerance — immediate and permanent suspension: - Any content involving minors, especially of a sexual nature - Nudity or sexual content sent without the other person having asked for it - Threats, incitement to violence or glorification of crime - Sharing other people's personal data without authorization (doxxing) - Recording or sharing conversations and calls without consent

Also prohibited: - Harassment, stalking, hate speech, racism, homophobia, transphobia or any discrimination - Spam, advertising, chain messages or promotion of other services - Scams, requests for money, malicious links - Pretending to be someone else - Using bots or automation to chat - Selling, buying or transferring accounts - Trying to get around blocks by creating new accounts

4. Your responsibility for what you send

You are solely responsible for what you write, send and post. We don't read your conversations and we don't review them in advance.

By sending content, you declare that you have the right to do so and you grant us a limited license, solely to store and deliver that content within the app. The content remains yours. We don't use your photos, messages or videos for any other purpose.

5. Reporting, blocking and moderation

Every conversation has a report button and a block button. We review every report within 24 hours.

What can happen to anyone who breaks these rules: content removal, a warning, a temporary suspension or a permanent ban — depending on how serious it is.

Reports involving a suspected minor, unsolicited nudity or a threat get top priority and go into an immediate suspension flow, before human review.

To be exact about what the system does: automatic suspension is triggered by a report, not by analysis of the content. We don't read or scan messages looking for violations — and we're not going to promise monitoring that doesn't exist.

There is no subscription refund in the case of a ban for breaking the rules.

6. About view-once media

The app lets you send photos and videos that are deleted from our server as soon as they are opened. Be clear-eyed about what that protects:

• On Android, we block screen capture while the media is open.
• On iPhone there is no technical way to prevent screenshots. Apple doesn't offer that API to any app.
• The other person can always photograph the screen with another device.

Don't send anything you can't afford to lose control of.

7. Voice calls

Calls only happen between people who have accepted each other as friends. The audio goes directly from one device to the other and is not recorded by us.

Recording a call without the other person's consent is prohibited by these terms and may be a crime.

8. Subscriptions and payments

Where there are subscriptions, they will be processed exclusively by the App Store or Google Play. We don't receive or store your card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically until they are cancelled at least 24 hours in advance, in your account settings on the store. The price, the duration and the renewal are disclosed before purchase.

Cancellation and refunds are handled by the store, following Apple's and Google's policies. Deleting your account in the app does not cancel the subscription.

9. What we don't promise

The app is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that you will find someone to talk to, that the service will be available without interruptions, or that the other person will be pleasant, honest or tell the truth about themselves.

You talk to strangers at your own risk. We don't verify anyone's identity — that is precisely the point of the app. Never share bank details, ID documents or passwords, and never send money to someone you met here.

We are not responsible for what users say or do, or for losses arising from interactions between people. Our liability is limited to the amount you may have paid in the last 12 months, to the extent permitted by applicable law — without prejudice to the rights guaranteed by the Consumer Protection Code.

10. Termination

You can delete your account whenever you want, in Profile → Account.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if there is suspected fraud or if the law requires it. Where possible, we will let you know beforehand.

11. Changes

We may change these terms. Material changes will be announced within the app at least 15 days in advance. Continuing to use the app after that means accepting the new version.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Brazilian law. The courts of Cascavel, Paraná are the elected venue for settling disputes, save for the consumer's right to bring an action in the venue of their own domicile.
